New Delhi: West Bengal and Delhi also operated the portability of ration cards while the remaining two states of Assam and Chhattisgarh are expected to join the coming months, the Union Food Ministry said on Saturday.

“The two remaining countries – Assam and Chhattisgarh – are targeted for integration under Onorc in the next few months,” the Ministry said in a statement.
At present, the monthly average of around 2.2 crore portability transactions is being recorded consistently in the state and the United States, he said.
According to the ministry, 40 crore portability transactions have been conducted since August 2019.
The maximum transaction has been reported from Bihar (10.14 Crore), followed by Andhra Pradesh (6.92 Crore), Rajasthan (4.56 Crore), Telangana, Uttar Pradesh , Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh in that period.
