West Bengal forms Pro committee to Pick on Madhyamik, HS Examinations

KOLKATA:” Though West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee had previously declared that there’ll be more Madhyamik and Higher Secondary exams this season however, the state authorities, on Wednesday formed a specialist committee to determine whether the board examinations are possible within this pandemic circumstance.
The committee was requested to present its report within 72 hours.
On Wednesday, the day once the exam program for Madhyamik and Greater Secondary was likely to be declared, the state authorities postponed the statement and pushed an expert committee to examine the whole scenario and publish a report in 72 hours to the mechanism and possibility of running the examinations within this corona scenario.

Sources in the board said the committee could present its view on many matters including whether examinations are potential and if it’s possible then what is going to be the mechanics of running without exposing pupils to the disease.
The committee may also explore the elements of assessing the pupils if there aren’t any exams whatsoever.
Sources from the board suggested that high board officials such as President of West Bengal Board of Secondary Examination (WBBSE) Kalyanmoy Ganguly, President of West Bengal Council for Higher Secondary Exam (WBCHSE) Mohua Das and also Chairperson of West Bengal Commission for the Protection of Child Rights Ananya Chakraborty will be Part of the committee.
Aside from that there’ll be physicians that are working together with Covid sufferers, child psychologists and members of various NGOs working mostly with the kids and teen-agers.
“The committee was requested to submit their account in 72 hours.
The state authorities will assess the entire thing from the light of this report filed by the committee and the final decision will be accepted.
But it won’t take long since the board is eager to facilitate out the pressure of the pupils,” a senior board .
The board officials have the belief that following the conclusion of this class XII examinations of the CBSE and ISC, the creation of a specialist committee is extremely important because the wellness of the pupils have become the most essential thing for those boards in addition to the state authorities.
“We won’t compromise the health of almost 21 lakh Madhyamik and Higher Secondary pupils and therefore we are prepared to take any type of tough choice,” the member said.
Before main minister Mamata Banerjee had stated that the state administration has chosen to run the Madhyamik and Higher Secondary examination from the next week of August and final week of July respectively where just assessments of the mandatory subjects will be obtained, leaving the universities to provide marks to the extra subjects depending on the internal examination.
The ministry had also stated that the period tenure of the examinations would be 1.5 hours instead of 3 weeks.
“You’ll find 15 mandatory subjects and 37 other subjects from the 3 flows.
We’ve opted to take examinations only of these mandatory subjects that are most likely to carry 16 days.
The quantities of the extra topics will be provided from the various colleges,” she’d said.
There are a number of 12 lakh pupils and they’ll take their assessment in their house centers only.
The exam will be of 1.5 hours and the pupils might need to present their examinations just on the 7 mandatory topics.
Amounts for the extra topics will be provided from the college authorities on the grounds of internal examinations.
