Kolkata: A lawyer who lives in Bararaagar and reportedly practiced at Calcutta HC and the Supreme Court was arrested by the Garawan police for allegedly cheating and posing as an adviser to stand the state government and CBI special advisers.
A Alipore court sent him to police custody until July 16.
The police accused that Sanan Ray Chaudhuri had tried to “illegally” capture property in the garawan area.
Ray Chaudhuri was arrested after being intercepted in the Amherst road area on Sunday.

Counsel Defense Tirthhankar Roy said severe allegations were slapped in innocent men.
He said the complainants were especially combating the case of property disputes and it was a civil problem.
The defendant’s wife said: “I don’t realize fraud.
We have documents that are relevant to us.
I will go to the police station to ask about the arrest.” The arrest came in two weeks police who arrested the fake Debanjan Deb officer who had organized a fake vaccination camp.
