Kolkata: The Bengali government on Friday officially issued a new restriction command that will take effect from 16 to 31 August with additional relaxation for restaurants and bars, retail stores, and other retail companies.
This is an additional for the announcement made by Mamata Banerjee’s Minister’s head on Thursday regarding the auditorium, swimming pool and stadium.
According to orders, all shops and companies, including restaurants and bars, which are allowed to remain up to 8 nights so far, can now maintain ordinary working hours until 10:30 a.m.
Stadiums and swimming pools can remain open with a capacity of 50% at the time and cinema, auditoriums and open theater will be allowed to open with 50% seating capacity at once.
The night limitation will be at 11pm to 5 in the morning.
The Association of the East Indian President’s hotel and restaurant Sudesh Poddar said the extended time would be very important to survive the food and beverage industry.
He said the restaurant did not get a dinner crowd, which was calculated more than 50% -60% of business.
“From 7:30 a.m.
until 10:30 a.m.
is the main time for dinner and we get the main part of the business.
We will be on the path of revival with a new timing announced on Friday,” he said.
Special restaurant chairman Anjan Chatterjee said new timings would help the industry back the majority of dinner businesses.
Confederation of West Bengal Trade Association President Sushil Poddar praised relaxation.
“Additional time will give us flexibility.
It will be good for retail and wholesale trade,” he said.
Leading liquor retailers are also happy, saying, “The last two hours, from 8pm to 10 nights, it is very important to us.”
