Kolkata: The state government has been postponed, from Monday, “off-site camps and outdoor vaccinations”, with maybe some exceptions.
The move came four days after the vaccine managed in the Kasba camp was found fake, leading to the arrest of the committee.
From Monday, only the vaccination center in the hospital (both personally and the government) and the clinic run by KMC will operate.
Some centers outside the location in the mall can be permitted to function, but there will be better clarity for this after the meeting on Monday that health officials have called with private hospitals on inoculation drives and SOPs.
On Saturday, extensive SOP – is preparing an outreach vaccination center by a private hospital – framed.
Also on Saturday, CMOH North 24 parganas have asked all private hospitals to accommodate all vaccination centers outside the location until further notice, in front of SOP.
Private hospital said they received instructions to stop all vaccination camps outside the site from Monday from Joly Choudhury, Together Secretary, Suda (Urban Development Authority), which is a nodal official for drive vaccination.
It caused the last minute rush in the hospital to notify the organization they had tied with camps outside the location from Monday.
The International Institute of RN Tagore for Kardak Science must shift one of the camps outside the site to the hospital on Sunday itself after the SOP left the Ministry of Health.
“Every Sunday, we did camp outside the location for the less capable, and we had to shift the site to the hospital vaccination center, where around 500 got Jab.
Fortunately, we only have one camp outside the site scheduled for Monday, and We have told our partner about cancellations, “said R region Venkates (East), Narayan Health.
Superspecialty Medica Hospital has postponed three camps for Monday – one in the city and two on Behrampore.
“We have held around 12 camps outside the site every day regularly,” said Group Chair of the Medica Hospital Alok Roy.
While private hospitals say this is a good step to ensure the perfect drive, they worry about the urge to lose steps in the next few days.
Peerless CEO Sudipto Mitra said: “Camp loses credibility after Kasba’s failure.
People are afraid, skeptics and we need time to win their beliefs.
Therefore, I have to add that we need a vaccination camp outside the site to reach more people to accelerate Drive.
“The Woodlands Hospital said it would only accommodate the drive outside the location they received earlier permission.
“We have obtained a letter of approval from the authorities for each off-site vaccination center since the first day.
So, there should be no problems with our drives tomorrow,” said Rupali Basu, MD, Woodlands.
This step comes as a reducer for those who have observed to be invested in off-site camps that are relatively rare, rather than crowded for their doses in a crowded KMC clinic, a government hospital or even a private hospital.
Over the past few months, thousands of elderly citizens – are believed to be more vulnerable to Covid – has been able to receive vaccines in their complexes or housing camps close to their homes.
There are many more waiting for their second dose, which might have to join a long queue if the camps outside the site are not revived.
Some private hospitals have held camps in shopping centers, which now stands suspended.
Some private hospitals have previously abandoned camps outside their site after the Ministry of Health changed the method of finding permission for them and made them tighter after the failure of Kasba.
Although previously, all private vaccination centers had to fill out the form and hand them over to the Ministry of Health, which created pages on the Co-Win portal for certain camps, additional permits will now be needed, announced.
Also, more details of the camp and each vaccination center is sought in the application form.
The Ministry of Health said it would take 48 hours since the time to issue a final permit.
