Sonarpur: The National Investigation Agency on Tuesday night arrested the 50-year-old Abdul Mannan for the alleged relationship with Bangladesh Jamaat-Ul-Mujahiden Terror Clothing (JMB).
Mannan, a resident of Achara, Subhasgram, in Sonarpur was arrested in connection with the investigation of sustainable youth radicalization by JMB.
According to sources, Mannan aka Bachu has an ancestral relations with the Larisal Bangladesh.
He has lived in Atghara for four years in rented accommodation.
“This case is related to the online radicalization conspiracy and Muslim youth recruitment which is vulnerable by JMB / AQIS (Al-Qaeda in Indian continental children) in India and Bangladesh.
Nia has registered a case on August 6, 2021.
Until now, five defendants have been arrested,” said agency in a statement.
Searching at Residence Mannan causes confiscation of electronic devices, fake Indian voter ID cards, aadhaar cards, and other papers used to make identification documents.
“The defendant was involved in managing false Indian identity documents for JMB terrorists who illegally entered India,” said Nia.
In July, the Special Task Force of Kolkata Police arrested three citizens of Bangladesh – SK Shabbir, Joseph and Rabiul Islam – which illegally entered India and was a member of the terrorist organization.
They allegedly hatched conspiracies with colleagues to fight by recruiting and motivating Muslim youths who were vulnerable to the Indian government.
They have also tried to build ‘Caliphate’ in Bangladesh by eliminating democratically selected governments and allegedly spread their ideology by following, sending and sharing jihad, post and video texts through Facebook profiles under ‘Samh Sabbir’.
