Kolkata: ATM gang has been jammed again.
A woman from Rajarhat and an old man from the entrance claimed that their ATM card was exchanged by the defendant and money withdrawn from their account.
In the first incident, Anima Bhattacharya from Rajarhat visited three ATMs in the area and the card was allegedly exchanged at private bank ATMs.
Bhattacharya, in his complaint, stated he realized the card was exchanged only after he began receiving a message withdrawal from his account, a few hours after the work was still done.
The victim lost Rs 42, 241.
Police Rajarhat was investigating this case and had approached the bank for the details of the ATM.
In case of shared, victim – Asit Partner (71) – has submitted a complaint with its public sector bank.
“I was in the public sector bank on Saturday when the incident happened.
The man advanced to tell me that I had dropped my statement, I didn’t actually have.
That’s when he exchanged cards and I lost Rs 11,000.
I immediately blocked the card , “said partner.
Shoulder surfing involves incidents where criminals observe buyers and record their pins when they pay the goods or when they use an ATM.
Buyers and bank customers are then approached from ATMs or in places such as the shopping center parking lot where they are disturbed and their cards are stolen.
