West Bengal: WBJee Exam is held on Saturday
Written by news2in

Kolkata: The examination of entry with West Bengal (WBJee), which will be held on Saturday, will be the first physical public examination in the state since the second wave of the pandemic struck.
More than 92,000 candidates will appear for tests – scheduled in two parts – at 274 centers.
Some safety steps are being implemented to ensure no candidate or contract invigilator novel Coronavirus.
Candidates must reach the center of the exam half an hour before the start of the test and their temperature will be checked with thermal weapons before being allowed to enter.
If there is a test found to run the temperature, it will be asked to take a test in a separate room.
All candidates must carry their own water bottle.
Candidates will not be allowed to leave the exam center before the entire exam is complete.
The WBJee team has examined the centers to check whether they have a spacious room and classroom or not let the candidate sit apart.
In classrooms that can accommodate 50 students, 20-25 candidates will sit.
The number of exam centers has been upgraded because the number of candidates permitted in several centers has been halved.
The University of Jadavpur will accommodate 200 candidates, against the previous count of 500-pluses.
Jadavpur Vidyapith School, one of the largest centers, will have 450 candidates.
The first phase of the sanitization of the centers has been completed, and another round will be done at night tests.
“We are ready for the exam that will be held in several rooms that have been unanitized.
We follow all security steps,” said Jadavpur University VC Suranjan Das.
Principal Jadavpur Vidyapith Parimal Bhattacharya himself examined the process of sanitization on Thursday and will repeat it on Friday.
Candidates are happy that the WBJee council has requested the state transportation department to run a special bus for them.
“If not, I have to order a car from my house to the center of Barrackpore,” said Ritam Dey, a student at St Augustine’s Shyamnagar.
Abhishek Basu, a student at DPS Ruby Park, will travel from Bhowanipore to Ju by a family car.
“Many of us share our vehicles with our friends.
Many have shared a rental car,” he said.
Stus, such as Bengal State Transport Corporation, the transportation corporation of South Bengal State and the North Bengal state transportation corporation, will run a special bus service for JEE ferry candidates.
Service will be available from 8am to 8pm.
“In the absence of a suburban train, students will depend on the bus.
So we will run a large number of buses to meet the request.
The number of buses will increase or decrease depending on the demands.
The full-scale control room will operate,” said a transportation department.
Even private bus operators will run several buses.
“We will try ply a few buses to ferry exam participants.
We have been related to the police and jee boards for the exam center location,” said Tadu Saha from the suburban bus service.
