Mangaluru: For the second consecutive day on Thursday, officers from the National Investigation Agency (Nia) continued their investigation at home at Masthikate, owned by the former MLA, at the Ullal Police Station.
Nia, along with the State Police Unit, conducted a simultaneous quest in five locations throughout India, including three in Kashmir, Bengaluru and Mangaluru, and arrested four operators on Wednesday.
The search was made after the registered case of seven known and was accused of other unknown, under various parts of the IPC and UA (P) acting on March 5, related to the terrorist activities of Mohammed Ameen aka Abu Yahya from Kerala and his colleagues, accused of running various State propaganda channel (IS).
Previously Nia had searched and arrested three accused, Mohammed Ameen, Dr Rahees Rasheed and Mus’hab Anwar.
From Ullal, the police have picked up Ammar Abdul Rahman, the former MLA relatives.
The Nia team led by the Chief Investigating Officer Uma Meena, a DSP ranking officer, an inspector, female sub-inspector and breast milk, was supported by the local police, had been looking for a house owned by Kin Mla.
The search was conducted in a place that was accused and the suspect, who kept in touch with Mohammed Ameen and his colleagues through various groups and channels on encrypted chat platforms, and had raised funds for the progress of activities, said source.
During search, some digital devices include laptops, cellphones, hard disk drives, drive pens, several SIM cards from various service providers and burdensome documents confiscated.
The source said that among those who were interrogated in Ullal, was a woman with a four-month-old child.
SP ranking officials and two inspectors joined the probe on Thursday.
Meanwhile, after the search for Nia in Ullal, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Zonal Secretary Sharan Pumpwell urged the government to establish the Nia Office and an army base camp in Mangalore.
