New Delhi: The draft framework for the undergraduate curriculum framework based on 2020 national education policy released by Delhi University on Friday stated that a student would need 176 credits for a four-year scholar program.
According to the draft, a fyup student will be given an honorary title with a certain discipline department in the completion of eight semesters, provided that students secure 50% of the total loans needed in the discipline.
Such students are also required to write a dissertation in the fourth year they must choose to pursue awards with a research degree.
Those who choose a four-year honorary degree with research will be asked to choose mandatory for research methodology coursology in both semesters VI or VII.
Students pursue a four-year program in more than one discipline -BA (Social Sciences or Humanities), BSC (Physics or Mathematics Sciences) or BCOM – will be given award title with the Department of Science Discipline if they secure 80 specific disciplinary credits.
For example, a student does honorary courses in social science or humanities with history, political science and Hindi as core courses will have a historical department if they complete eight semesters with a minimum of 80 credits in history along with the dissertation related to history.
In addition, there are also provisions for internships, internships, projects or community outreach from semester III to semester VI.
This gives “sufficient opportunities to students to explore the field of knowledge or activities outside the four class walls and reach the world outside without dilution of academic features of the study program”, Draft explained.
The design of the framework also states that students who pursue a single core discipline program can obtain a minor in certain discipline by getting 28 credits in the discipline, which must be different from the core course.
Fyup allows several entries and exits for students.
With 44 credits in the first two semesters, students can get out of the program with undergraduate certificates in certain disciplines.
Likewise, students can obtain a Bachelor’s Diploma by securing 88 credits after completing four semesters.
For a three-year course, 132 credits will be requested by students to get an honorary degree in certain discipline.
The draft also allows the mobility of intra and university students.
“A student, based on such mobility, will be able to make lateral movements in universities and from universities to other institutions and vice versa,” the draft was explained.
While all stakeholders can respond to drafs until January 30, some teachers have expressed concern.
Mithuraaj Dhusiya, member of the Academic Council DU, said, “This is the fourth template that floated by DU in a year to implement NEP from 2022-23.
Each draft has varied widely in fundamentals, such as the course structure.
Cosmetic changes cannot hide the loss of work will come.
This special draft has not even been discussed in the air conditioner.
“Jaswinder Singh, the Principal, SGTB Khalsa College, said,” The University discusses this change with the principal, but a legal entity, the Academic Council and the Executive Board, are people who need Discuss this draft.
Until and unless it happens, I will not be able to comment on this concept proposal.
