Ahmedabad: Celebration turns our sky into a beautiful fireworks kaleidoscope.
Government pollution experts have long been warned against the increasing particles of PM2.5.
But a little outlines the nature of the particle that forms smoke.
Recently, the Indian Tropical Meteorology Institute (IITM), Pune, and several other institutions released a report on substances that remained suspended in Ahmedabad air after night Diwali in 2018-19.
The researchers showed that potassium content increased 15.3 times after diving the previous day.
Magnesium compound particles rose 10 times, manganese content soared 6 times, while the content of lead and sodium jumped 4 times.
This study was conducted by IITM’s Latha Radhadevi, Vrinda Anand, Nikhil Korhale, Pramod Kori, and Murthy Bandaru.
This study includes Delhi, Pune, and Mumbai too.
Ahmedabad has a second highest PM2.5 concentration on Diwali Day with Rakhial Topping Graph Station at 353 micrograms per cubic meter.
The city gift saw the least concentration, 89 micrograms per cubic meter.
Unlike in other cities, in Ahmedabad, most stations showed a peak value at close range, the research said.
This study includes 1,050 square kilometers.
The study also observed that differences in PM10 (dust levels) between Diwali and Pre-Diwali days were 1,407 micrograms per cubic meter, while the difference was 746 micrograms per cubic meter for PM2.5 particulate pollution.
“Pune is the third present with Pasas Station has PM2.5 at 67 micrograms per cubic meter and Hadapsar at 257 micrograms per cubic meter as a peak of diving days which each and maximum in the range,” said this study.
It was added, “it was seen that PM2.5 and PM10 in Delhi increased by 353% and 213% respectively.” In Pune and Ahmedabad, the increase in PM2.5 is half of Delhi while the effect in Mumbai is only a millionth of Pune, where atypical variations with other cities, the research said.
