New Delhi: WhatsApp has reportedly added new features to its web version that will allow users to request companies about their information and account settings.
Called account request info, this feature will allow users to request whatsApp for their account information and settings.
This feature is now available for Android and iOS users and has now been expanded to WhatsApp Web.
Using the user feature can send requests to WhatsApp and export reports consisting of their account activity information, privacy settings and information about the device used to access the instant messaging application.
As reported by Wabetainfo, a platform that save traces of change in WhatsApp Build, WhatsApp Desktop Beta version 2.2204.1 has a reference on the request account info option.
With this feature integration, WhatsApp aims to allow desktop users to generate reports consisting of their information and account settings.
The meta-owned application introduces similar features for Android and iOS applications in 2018.
The company launches features after the new EU data privacy data.
The UE Privacy Act, known as the Regulation of European General Data Protection (GDPR), allows users to download their data and transfer it.
Recently, whatsapp banned more than 2 million Indian accounts in December 2021.
According to Compliance Report, WhatsApp said 20,79,000 Indian accounts were prohibited on WhatsApp during December 2021.
Previously, Meta-owned companies had stated that more than 95 percent of the prohibition was caused by Use of an invalid automatic or bulk message (spam).
More than 1.75 million Indian accounts are prohibited by WhatsApp, while 602 complaint reports are received by the messaging platform in November.
WhatsApp, in its latest report, said it had received 528 user reports that stretched throughout account support (149), banding tire (303), other support (29), product support (34) and safety (13) for 2021 (13).
