New Delhi: Syndicates that are hacking into cellular devices and whatsapp accounts People who use custom-made malware have been captured by smart Fusion and Strategic Op (IFSO) units.
Mastermind from Syndicate, said the source, recently hacked the WhatsApp account from the senior bureaucrat which followed the full investigation launched.
According to DCP (IFSO) KPS Malhotra, the mastermind module, identified as Chimelum Emmanuel Aniwetalu aka Maurice from Nigeria, has been arrested.
His colleagues have also been identified and raids to arrest him.
“Syndicate send malware through WhatsApp and thus access the call log, SMS and contacts and control of the targeted WhatsApp account.
After hacking the account, they will pose as the original WhatsApp account holder and communicate with the contact list thus further hacking becomes more contacts , “said DCP Malhotra.
The gang not only squeezed the victim using their WhatsApp chat content but also made the calls depressed to demand money on various pretusions from their contacts.
Syndicates have been operating from Delhi and Bangalore.
“We have received a complaint that someone’s cellphone is hacked by some unknown people.
Taking control of WhatsApp from the complainant, they began to demand money from the complainant contact list by sending various difficulties.
The defendant has also provided a bank account for complainant contacts to transfer money,” said DCP Malhotra.
A FIR was registered with IFSO and the team consisting of ACP Raman Lamba and Vijay Gahlawat Inspector and Bhanu Pratap were formed to investigate this case.

The technical investigation consisting of an IP address (IP-DR) and human intelligence led to identifying one of the defendants arrested during the attack.
Laptops and 15 phones are confiscated from it.
Analysis of laptops seized revealed the gang using the application to design and spread various malware links.
The defendant has sent a specially designed malware disguised as an application to the victim’s device.
“The defendant made a special application for every victim who when downloaded and installed on the phone, send it, call log and text on the defendant’s server,” said DCP Malhotra further.
During the interrogation and analysis of the device forensics, it was revealed that the defendant had various modus operandi – the most prominent of them imitating a girl and making friends with various social media profiles.
After they set trust, the gang will then send a link to let him join a group of close-minded friends.
“Once the person clicked on the link, he would lose control of their social media profile.
After that, the gang used to operate a social media account to make money,” DCP added.
Mastermind Maurice has been found to have sent it in the country even after the end of her tourist visa in 2018.
The demand also suggested that she deceived people with the pretext of selling herbal seeds online.
He is also friends with an elderly man by posing as a woman from abroad.
The suspect, a police said, has created a false document that calls himself an approved asyumseeker.
In this case, a separate case has been registered at the Garden Mohan police station.
The homeowner, who rented its place to foreigners, has also been ordered.
“Delhi’s police appeals to people because they are careful when communicating on social media and avoiding clicking on a random web link or URL sent on any social media platform,” DCP said.
