New Delhi: WhatsApp has launched a new privacy update that will provide more controls to users.
Popular instant-messaging applications have released a feature called ‘my contact except’.
This feature will allow users to control who can see the last visible photo, status, profile and description of WhatsApp.
Wabetainfo, a Twitter account that tracks whatsApp Build changes, has confirmed that Android users on WhatsApp get the feature ‘my contact except’ this new with the update version 2.21.23.14.
This new privacy feature allows users to choose who can see their information as the last seen, profile photo, status and description.
You will find this new option under the privacy settings on WhatsApp.
This is the fourth option because the application offers options like everyone, my contact and nothing.
Users must choose contacts that they do not want to share information using the ‘Contact Must’ option.
Not selected contacts will not be able to see new changes made by you and will continue to see the same old information.
Also, if the user deactivates the last seen for certain contacts, then they also will not be able to see their last status.
However, the same rules do not apply to and profile photos.
Apart from this, another Wetetainfo report revealed that whatsapp beta users get new updates.
This update generates a new user interface (UI) for the contact information section.
Design changes have been seen by several beta users with previous updates.
This report also mentions that with a new beta version, some users can also accept new interface activation for group info.
