Earlier this month, WhatsApp launched a new privacy feature that gives more controls to users.
Facebook’s platform released a feature called “my contact except”.
Until now, the feature is only available for WhatsApp Beta on Android devices but according to the latest report by Wabetainfo, the company has begun to launch features to other users too.
This report reveals that with the update version 2.2146.5, this feature is now available for web and desktop users too.
What is the “contact me” feature WhatsApp? The instant-messaging feature allows users to control who can see the last visible photo, status, profile and about descriptions on WhatsApp.
This feature can be accessed under privacy settings.
The application already has an option like everyone, my contact and nothing.
With new features, users can choose contacts that they don’t want to share information like the last visible, profile photo, status and about descriptions with.
Contacts not selected by users will not be able to see new changes and information.
Recently, WhatsApp also launched a new shortcut for Android users.
New shortcuts allow users to start video calls quickly when viewing status updates are shared by other users.
To access shortcuts, you can tap the three dots icons in the upper right corner of the screen when viewing status updates and in the menu you can find the “Video Call” option.
The previous platform added a shortcut that allows users to start voice calls with other WhatsApp contacts in the same part.
Users who still have beta updates 2.21.23 can get a voice call shortcut.
Shortcuts are not yet available in a stable version of the application for the Android and iOS platform.
