Ahmedabad: When the city looks at the Olympics 2036, the status of Ahmedabad’s World Heritage City (WHC), such as other WHC European cities that hosted the main stage of the Gathers Olympics.
Crazy hope looks for the troubled WHC heritage building in the city after Seven Havelis, whose owners are now volunteer to register their property under the latest AHMedabad WHC list.
The counter about the same thing has been published and will be assigned TDR.
Even six more owners have sent the application to register their property under WHC.
“The owner of the seven buildings has tried since September 2019, but in February that their structure was registered.
We also process six additional applications for the WHC list.
This is due to increasing awareness,” said a senior AMC official.
Gazettes published on February 15, but the process of assigning the TDR to these buildings has just begun at Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC).
There are six additional buildings whose process is active.
Of the seven-registered buildings – three in Khadia have been categorized as a value of 2A – which has a high inheritance value, while the other three are in the Khadia and Shahpur area registered Grade-2B.
Properties is located in Lakha Pat Ni Pol, Desai Ni Pol, Kapalidas Ni Pol, Dhal Ni Pol, Sankdi Sheri and Moto Suthar No Wado.
This registered property owner has even sent their suggestions to the Civic body – asking the government to declare around 500 hectares of WHC Precinct as the Sez-Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ) which is intended specifically for urban revitalization, in this case, revitalizing heritage.
The walled city area has approached 2,700 certified heritage structures located within 2 square miles.
Of these, nearly 2,000 inheritance properties are under personal ownership.
“Ahmedabad has aimed to host the Olympics, such as other UNESCO European inheritance cities.
This is the main economic opportunity for UEZ, tourism and handicrafts.
Heritage cannot be protected through coercion but only through stakeholder participation.
Participation triggered by Economic incentives as extended for Sez’s, “Entrepreneurs said, inheritance guards, and members of the Executive Committee at the Heritage Heritage Association, Abhay Mangaldas.
“I have three buildings listed in Gazette as a WHC building.
We have been trying since September 2019.
Covid is one of the main reasons for delays.
We hope that the Civic body speeds up permissions for other buildings too,” Mangaldas said.
