When tourists pour, more beach guards for Man Beach Goa

Panaji: Considering that Goa will see the increase in footsteps during Christmas weeks and for the new year – the tourist season of the top – Drishti Marine has increased the placement of the coast guard on the coast.
The beach in Calangute, Candolim, Baga and Colva received the highest number of tourists, and the number doubled during the festive time, especially the new week, making it difficult to manage a crowd with regular spread.
Until now this year, nine people drowned while Drishti did more than 600 rescue.
At the average, 18 to 20 coast guards will be posted in the busiest beach stretch of Baga, Miramar, Calangute and Candolim in Goa and North Colva, Benaulim and Palolem in South Goa.
Jeep Patrolling will also be upgraded to help rescue.
The head of the Marine Drishti operation, Navin Awasthi said, “We anticipate the next few days to be very busy on the beach, especially on stretches who witnessed high footsteps.
We have initiated the spread of additional rescuers on the beach, especially in popular ones.” Managing Tourists The numbers swelled were difficult tasks, because they did not all listen to the coast guard when asked not to swim in the zone without swimming.
Several times there was a fight between tourists and coast guards, a tourist police said, added that they had to intervene when such incidents occurred.
Since last month, the state government has posted a tourist tour while Calangut-Candolim has a 24×7 police patrol for the safety and security of visitors to the beach.
In addition to life-producing, additional jet ski has also been deployed on the busiest beach, Awasthi said.
“Each tower and jeep is equipped with a high-powered two-way radio set to allow strong communication.
Lifesavers Manning Ski Jet This coordinates with each other in various locations during search and rescue operations,” he said.
In all 35 towers, Lifesavers are equipped with first aid kits, spinal boards, surfboards, rescue boards, rescue tubes, handheld radio sets, bag valve masks to help in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automatic external defibrillator machines (AED).
Lifeguards posted at 40 beaches stretched, Dudhsagar waterfall and on Lake Mayem.
Drishti Lifesavers operates from between 7am and 6pm.
Post sunset pool is not allowed, and the police patrolled the beach until midnight.
