Noida: The 32-year-old murder accused of running for 14 years and living under false identity was arrested by Noida police, officials said on Tuesday.
The police have also recovered the aadhaar passport and card made on false documents by the defendant, which was held on Monday from Surajpur in Greater Noida, they said.
“The accusation of Saurabh Singh alias Vikky was a native of Kalyanpur in Kanpur Regency.
He is suspected of looting and killing a man in the BILHAUR area in Kanpur in 2007 and has been running since then,” Deputy Deputy Deputy Police Commissioner (crime) Eamaran G said.
“He escaped since the incident and to avoid arrest, he has lived with a false identity for 14 years.
He has a SIM and Aadhaar card made on a false identity and he uses the documents to get a passport also made,” he said.
The defendant, who has shown his identity as a resident of Ghaziabad, lives in Greater Noida and held after the police to the local Bibrakh police, the officer said.
During his stay here, Singh has worked with various private companies under its changed identification, police said.
During his arrest on Monday night, the police also won two illegal firearms along with some ammunition from ownership.
A new pine has been submitted to Him at the Bibrakh police station for cheating, forgery, and the ownership of firearms illegally, they said, adding that Singh was sent to prison.
