Madurai: Residents in Bangsal Number 20 Madurai Corporation in Madurai have complained that this ward has one of the worst roads in a narrow city due to encroachment, has removed the paver block and filled with overflowing waste.
Muthuramalingam Thevar Street near the Arasaradi road is decorated with several stores.
Finally it was connected to the Teater VellyaNu road and smaller walks.
While the Vellya Teater road, which is newly placed recently, in good condition, the same cannot be said about other people, said residents.
The road is like Naval Nagar 1st Street, PONMENI PUDUR 2ND STREET and Nehru Street are very narrow so it’s only two wheels that can use it.
A resident, S GurbatThy, 29, said, “The road in this area is ordinary wide when I was little, but, now, even the cycle of children’s toys cannot be ridden on these streets, because they become very narrow due to encroachment Because of encroachment due to encroachment.
“Paver blocks on smaller streets are often excavated to work.
“Even in one way, workers managed to put back the road correctly after work and therefore these walks were flooded with rainwater and waste now,” said Yogywari, another resident.
R Saktthive, other residents say that the corporation only removes emergency shops on the roadside, while the greater concrete structure is ignored.
“Community Hall, was built more than 10 years ago, which has never been used, can be converted into a market complex by the corporation to relieve congestion on the road,” he said.
Corporation Commissioner K P Karthikeyan said that they did not have a plan immediately to put down a smaller road and now work on bigger streets where the main work and underground drainage (ER) worked.
“But, we have been looking for funds, and road work will be taken when accepted gradually,” he said.
