WASHINGTON: The White House said about 10% of children who qualified 5 to 11 years have received a dose of Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine since his approval for their age group two weeks ago.
At least 2.6 million children have received the opportunity, the White Coordinator of the Covid-19 Building Jeff Zients told Wednesday, with 1.7 million doses managed in the last week, about doubled from the first step after approval.
This is more than three times faster than adult interest rates vaccinated at the beginning of the national vaccination campaign 11 months ago.
Zients said there were 30,000 locations for children to get the opportunity, up from 20,000 last week, and that the administration expects a child’s shot rate to take in the coming days.
Children who get their first vaccine dose at the end of this week will be fully vaccinated by Christmas, assuming they get a second shot three weeks after the first.
