Aboard Air Force One: Biden Administration advocated the state and local leaders to impose the Covid-19 vaccine mandate, White spokesman for the Karine Building Jean-Pierre told reporters on Tuesday.
“We encourage everyone …
from the private sector and public to take action to need vaccination,” he said, when asked whether the White House encouraged countries to impose their own vaccine mandate.
President Joe Biden last week introduced the federal vaccine mandate aimed at employees of large companies and all federal workers and contractors.
Mandate faces legal challenges.
The previous vaccine mandate in the United States was largely introduced by the state and local governments, and related to public spaces and schools.
“Last week, as you know, we took great and strong actions as part of the tool we had …
to increase vaccination from the federal government,” Jean-Pierre said.
“We certainly advocate for local leaders to do the same thing,” he said, mentioning encouragement to vaccinate Americans with the spread of Korenavirus “war efforts.”
