WHO honours Union health Ministry Harsh Vardhan for work at Place of tobacco control

NEW DELHI: Union health ministry Harsh Vardhan had been given the’WHO Director-General Special Recognition Award’ for his achievements in the region of tobacco control Monday.
Leading a vow to eliminate tobacco to the event, Vardhan explained,”Individuals who have cigarette or smoke cigarettes may face further complications of Covid-19 that may even cause death.
They confront 40-50% additional risk because of this habit” Each year, WHO prohibits people or businesses at each of the six WHO regions because of their achievements in the region of tobacco control.
This recognition takes the Kind of all WHO Director-General Special Recognition Award and World No Tobacco Day awards.
WHO leader Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated Vardhan’s leadership has been instrumental in the 2019 federal legislation to prohibit e-cigarettes and heated tobacco goods.
“Pleased to award Harsh Vardhan with all the particular fame for tobacco control,” that he also tweeted.
