Who urged international donors to continue the Afghan health fund

Representatives of the World Health Organization to Afghanistan asked the international community on Thursday to continue funding the suspended state health programs that were suspended when the Taliban took over the country, because the health care system occurred in a crisis.
The deterioration situation underluxed the dilemma faced by many international donors, which many of which were quiet to fund the administration led by the Taliban, some of the members were on the list of international sanctions, but were afraid that the country was a lover of the humanitarian crisis.
“In recent weeks, access to health care significantly decreased to hundreds of thousands of some of the most vulnerable Afghanistans,” Luo Dapeng, who represents Afghanistan, told a press conference in Geneva.
“The fragile state health system is overwhelmed,” he said, adding to they coordinate with donors to find alternative funding mechanisms for health facilities.
The international government has promised millions of humanitarian assistance that is urgent but the questions remain more than long-term development and other funding on the economy that depends on international assistance.
Billions of dollars in the central bank assets held abroad have also been frozen.
A three-year health project of around $ 600 million managed by the World Bank in Afghanistan has funded the operation of hundreds of health facilities, and which estimates less than a fifth now fully functional.
It has contributed to the surge in measles and diarrhea cases, with half of the children of Afghanistan at risk of malnutrition and millions of Covid-19 vaccines sitting that are not used, said Dapeng.
