New Delhi: The World Health Organization (WHO) on Friday published a list of emergency use for anti-covid vaccines produced by Serum Institute of India under a license from Novavaks, expanding the basket of Jab that was validated by viral diseases.
Adar Poonawalla, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Serum Institute of India (SII), praises who the decision as “another milestone” in the war against Covid-19.
Earlier this week, Poonawalla said that SII planned to launch Covovax in the next six months.
He has stated that Covovax, who is being tried, will offer protection to children up to three years because it has shown excellent data during the trial.
“Who issued an emergency use listing for Covovax, expanding a validated vaccine basket with Covid-19,” said the World Health Agency in Tweet on Friday.
According to WHO, Covovax is assessed under the procedure for recording emergency use based on data reviews about quality, safety, and efficacy, risk management plans, programmed suitability, and manufacturing site inspections carried out by Indian drug controllers (DCGI).
“The technical advisory group for an emergency use list, organized by who and consists of experts from all over the world, has determined that vaccines meet the protection standards against Covid-19, that the benefits of vaccines far exceed any risks, and that vaccines can be used globally, “Tweet said.
