GENEVA: The head of the World Health Organization (WHO) called on Monday for launching international discussions to agree to an worldwide treaty on pandemic preparedness and response.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO director-general, also advised a final session of its yearly week-long ministerial meeting which the UN service demanded renewable and flexible financing.
“The 1 recommendation I think will do the best way to reinforce WHO and international health protection is that the recommendation of a treaty on pandemic preparedness and reaction that could also strengthen connections between member nations and boost cooperation.
