New Delhi: The success of the tribal group community vaccination, most of which doubts in Nilgiris Regency, who received the first dose of their shots, was a small part but not significantly from India’s efforts to discuss vulnerable groups and protect them from disease.
The Tamil Nadu government is now on track to manage the second dose for all adults in a strong 27,000 community before the third wave that is possible, by following that the Covid case among the very vulnerable groups (PVTGs) during the second wave is the cause of attention.
The risk for these small population groups encouraged the state government to launch a special drive in May-June to provide 21,351 adult PVTG members who were shot first.
On September 1, 20.5% of those who qualified for the second dose have been vaccinated and the district administration hopes to include all those who qualify for the next two months.
The vaccination story in nilgiris was marked by severe doubts at first.

The house for the population of around 7.2 lakh people, nilgiris has 27,032 tribal people from six tribes which are part of 75 PVTGs in India.
These tribal groups include Irula, Kotas, Paniyas, Kattuarakan, Konumbas and Todas.
The latest data shows that 97% of all 5.9 lakh who qualifies in the district have taken their first dose and 24% have received their second shot.
The Ministry of Health launched a special drive to fight vaccine doubts arising from the wrong beliefs and fears of the place.
