Ahmedabad: Gujarat High Court on Monday asked AMC why city streets continued in poor conditions even three years after court instructions to keep them in good improvement.
The Justice of Ashish Desai and Justice Nirzar Desai asked the AMC to express details about road repairs and situations in connection with controlling livestock disorders on the streets.
“What kind of steps do you take to repair and continue the road and how much time will you take for the same thing?” Court said.
“And also make a statement about livestock management (on the streets).” The court was looking for a reply on October 22.
HC raised queries in response to insulting the implementation of the court for the implementation of previous orders for road maintenance, smooth traffic movements, adequate parking facilities, and removal of livestock lost, and removal of livestock from public roads.
The final and detailed instructions were issued in 2018.
The Petitioner’s advocate, Amit Panchal, complained that the Civic body did not even bother submitting its report on a monthly basis and the streets continued to be in a very bad condition.
This makes the judges question the Civic’s body.
“Three years have passed.
Why is the road in the same situation in Ahmedabad?” Said the court.
“What did you propose about the conditions of the road? What steps did you take every year before and after the monsoon?” The court also asked why the Civic body needed HC’s direction every year.
In the uneven patchwork and patch on the road, the judges commented that even if someone pushed the vehicle slowly, someone would feel a screening.
“There is no improvement at all.
In two kilometers of travel, there is a crossing like that,” said the court.
