Why is the ‘Sonos’ problem Google might be bad news for Amazon

Google entered the hot waters last year after the Sonos audio brand dragged him to court because it stole a patented feature from Sonos speakers to make the Google Smart Speaker.
Compared to the Google Dollar Trillion Empire, Sonos was a small fry with a ratings of around $ 5 billion.
Even though Sonos made Google sweat because the US International Trade Commission sided with Sonos which could cause Google’s smart speaker prohibition.
So, how did Amazon involved in this Sonos versus Google Fight? Sonos claims that Amazon even used several technologies made by Sonos to power the echo range of smart speakers.
While Sonos focuses on Google for now, it might be possible that it might happen after Amazon too.
When it comes to smart speakers, Sonos is the first to introduce connected internet speakers.
But to survive on the market, Sonos was forced to add Google Play music support and other Google services.
Both Google and Sonos worked together to make speakers back in 2013.
But after Google introduced Google Home Smart Speakers in 2016, Sonos claimed that Google copied the hardware features of Sonos speakers because Google has peaked when working with companies to add Google services .
Courts have now found that Google has indeed violated five patents and “openly and consciously” copying technology from Sonos to speakers with Google’s assistants.
Google, of course, denies this.
If the court finally rules against Google, then Google Home Smart Speaker circuit can be blocked.
As for Amazon, report claims that Sonos has worked with Amazon to integrate Alexa’s support, and Amazon may have copied several technologies from it too.
And after fighting with Google, Amazon may be next.
In a statement to TechCrunch, the official head of Sonos, Eddie Lazarus, said that the ALJ had found the five firm patents Sonos was legitimate and that Google violated all five patents.
We love ITC has confirmed Google’s blhatant violations of the patented discovery of Sonos.
This decision reaffirms the strength and breadth of our portfolio, marking a promising historical milestone in our long-term pursuit to maintain our innovation to abuse by large technology monopoly.
