Why Jewelry Traders in Delhi Wrong City Are Worried

New Delhi: Chandni Chowk turns into stretching pedestrians may be good news for buyers, but have parts of traders who are worried about their belongings.
Gold traders and jewelry said that they faced problems in loading and dismantling goods because the area that was rebuilt was declared a non-motorized vehicle zone.
Traders meet special CP, traffic police, to express concern about the safety of goods and problems faced by vehicles carrying jewelry.
Chandni Chowk organizes two major gold and jewelry markets – Kuncha Mahajani, one of the largest gold and jewelry markets in Asia and Dariba Kalan, retail market for gold and silver jewelry.
Yogesh Singhal, who heads the bullion association and jewelry in Kuncha Mahajani at Chandni Chowk, said that the vehicle carrying gold and ornaments was stopped arbitrarily near the tip of the red fort of pedestrian stretching.
“The distance between the market and the barrier is around 600-700 m and is not safe to carry goods by foot or pedicab.
Sometimes vehicles are allowed to enter, but sometimes prohibited,” he explained that gold traders claimed that their concern was appointed at the planning stage, but not considered.
“The bank’s cash van was released from pedestrian rules, but vehicles carrying ornaments did not,” said Singhal.
Singhal said that at the meeting of traders and special CP (traffic) on Thursday, the police agreed to see the problem after independence day.
The association has stated that there are 25 vehicles from four companies transporting gold and ornaments in turn.
“List of vehicles must be present with police officers at the checkpoint.
On a certain day, only eight such vehicles come to the market.
Vehicles are changed due to safety goals,” he added.
