The Ministry of Education recently formed the National Steering Committee (SC) for the development of the national curriculum framework.
The committee led by K Castation, former Head of the Indian Research Organization (ISRO) head has 12 members.
The committee consists of members of various fields ranging from academics to employers to social activists.
But the absence of direct representatives from NCERT who prepare school textbooks is the cause of concern between various academics.
They want NCF SC to dissolve.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Education, NCERT Director will help SC to complete the module.
Safe! You have managed to throw your voteogin to see the resolution of the former NCERT Director with the terms of anonymously saying that the participation of experts from NCERT is very important in the NCF committee.
“The council will eventually become a curriculum implementing agency must increase direct participation instead of just helping SC.
A total of 11 experts came from NCERT in the 35-member NCF team formed in 2005,” said the former official.
In accordance with the NEP 2020 perspective, the committee will develop four national curriculum frameworks – that is, the national curriculum framework for school education, national curriculum for early childhood care and education, the national curriculum framework for teacher education and the national curriculum framework for education.
Ncert is ignored
Despite having extensive experience in the fields related to school education and textbooks, NCERT has been fully ignored by the government, said P Rajamankam, a retired Professor of Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU), is currently the Secretary General of all Indian science networks (AIPSN )), Network more than forty science organizations spread throughout the country.
“Instead of having NEP members in the committee, it would be better to enter lawn education and NCERT experts as members.
The Committee entrusted to prepare a very small curriculum without expertise in these important areas,” said Rajamankam.
When contacted by The Education Times, NCERT officials refused to comment on the problem stating that no NCF development would be shared.
AIPSN in a statement also calls for a resource constitution of the Steering Committee with people who have an in-depth understanding of students in diverse socio-cultural contexts, knowledge of school education discipline and domain expertise in the education of teacher / adult education, as well as the sound of the experience of pedagogical processes needed to develop National curriculum framework.
