Madurai: Taking a serious view of the abuse of social media platforms such as YouTube to commit violations, Madras High Court on Thursday verbally says why such a social media platform cannot be added as a abettor / accused in case.
Considering the fact that videos like tutorials to make weapons and bombs available on YouTube, justice B Pugalendhi observes that if someone who witnesses such a video committing a violation, then the social media platform is a violation abettor.
The judge said the social media platform was used to tarnish the image of several people and ABET.
Judges searched for responses from the Tamil Nadu government in the mechanism applied to prevent this abuse.
The judge appointed advocate K K Ramakrishnan as Amicus Curiae to help court in this case.
The court made observations while hearing the petition submitted by police Thanjavur who tried to cancel the guarantee given to YouTuber and NTK officials ‘Sattai’ was Duraimurugan.
He was arrested for posting a video that slandered on his YouTube channel named ‘Satai’ using the pictures of the Mr.
