New Delhi: The festival must be celebrated in a simple way in Delhi because this meeting can trigger a surge in Covid cases and reverse profits made in controlling viruses, experts have suggested during the recent Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) meeting.
Last year, virus cases increased during the festival season and the capital reported more than 8,500 new cases on November 11.
Dr.
V K Paul, a member of Niti Aayog, said the Covid situation was under the current control, but people must remain careful.
Most experts, he said, believed that the third wave could be witnessed in October / November which coincided with the festival season.
Dr.
Paul shows that meetings during the festival can easily reverse all the benefits made in Covid-19 management.
Prof.
Balram Bhargava, Director General of Medical Research India, emphasized that mass meetings must be discouraged and the use of masks encouraged because vaccination does not prevent disease.
DDMA has banned the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi recently in public places.
All religious, political, social, cultural and other meetings are still prohibited in the capital.
Despite increasing demands from the Ramlila Committee to allow annual events, DDMA has not provided a green signal.
Experts also underline Spurt in the case of flu and suggest enhanced testing and contact contacts during the celebration season due to flu and covid-19 symptoms mostly similar.
Director of AIIMS Dr.
Randeep Guleria observed that the cases of Covid-19 daily in Delhi are currently low and only a few hospital beds occupied, but strict compliance with the appropriate behavior of Covid must be continued.
Referring to the case of influenza in the city, Guleria said stress must be tested with enthusiasm for early detection.
DDMA officially told that the Delhi test rate was higher than the national average.
The Director of the National Disease Control Center, Dr.
Sujit Kumar Singh, suggested that all the gates to the Delhi Metro station open to reduce congestion.
New daily cases in the city have been in two digits and active cases have also fallen sharply, with very little death several times.
