Gurgaon: Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has extended the deadline for completing road widening projects on 2km stretch among Old Delhi Road and Shankar Chowk from December 31 last year until March 31.
Nearly 30% of the project was still delayed, with work in the last part to Old Delhi Road jammed due to encroachment near the village of Dundahera.
“The deadline for the project has been moved to March 31.
The last part of the stretch near Dundahera Village has several encroachment.
After removing, the work can begin there.
The problem has been in court, so there is a delay,” said a senior official GMDA, who did not want to Named.
Most of the work was completed, the official said, but the repair worked on the last 100-150 meters in the last 100-150 meters of roads and disposal construction in the symbolization still remaining.

GMDA has begun working on the project in January 2019, with an early six-month deadline.
However, the project was repeatedly postponed by locking in the middle of the Coronavirus pandemic, a shortage of labor followed, repeated prohibition on construction considering the high level of pollution in the region, complications in utility shifts, and encroachment.
