Wild animals haunting people in Haveri

Haveri: There seems to be no end seen on threats involving livestock, dogs and pigs in the city because they are everywhere, roaming the streets freely.
Wild animals are often found to interfere with vehicle traffic, which sometimes causes accidents.
While pigs make interference, dogs threaten the public, especially at night.
Livestock lost continues to roam in various places in the city, especially near Hosamani Siddappa Circle and on the NH-48.
Haveri City Municipal Council (CMC) has directed animal owners to shift them to their place on August 21.
Those who failed to heed direction would be handled with rules under the Municipal Act (1964).
BJP leader Basavaraj Masur said the situation was getting serious because of the increasing number of wild livestock.
“Cow barriers can be seen on various roads and partior parts of the city.
At night, the driver made it difficult to drive / drove because of them,” he said.
M S Korishettar, a social worker based in the city, said people find it difficult to move because of the threat caused by wild animals.
“The number of wild pigs has increased dramatically.
But pig owners are not worried even when they attack public places, including residential areas.
People are also exposed to health risks,” he was a rupe.
Nagaraj Kulkarni, a resident of Bharathi Nagar, said: “Wild dogs continue to threaten people at night.
Most of them have made a big intersection of their home.
We have appealed to local authorities to drive them away from the city.
But CMC has not acted yet “He said.
CMC Commissioner Parahuram Chalavadi said they had directed livestock owners and pigs who were lost to bring their animals out of town on August 21.
“If not, we will launch the drive to catch them,” he warned.
