Coimbatore: A wild dog changes with violence and bits of 11 people, including a police chief woman, in Annur and the surrounding villages on Thursday, creating fears among villagers.
A police source said the dog began to release terror around 5 pm, when he began to pursue people and bite them in Sathy Road.
The head of Ponmani Ponmani, who served in Sathhy Road, was among the first few dog targets.
“After he informed his higher official, police officials and the health department began to look for the dog.” A health official with Annur Town Pancayat said the dog had bite 11 people at 8pm.
“They visited the Annur government hospital and took an injection.” He said they had mobilized the dog arrest team with vehicles as soon as they learned about wild dog attacks.
“They tracked the dog to the village of Nariampalli, who was on the coimbatore-tirupur border.
Because the dog entered the Tirupur district, the team returned empty-handed.” Local residents, meanwhile, said the threat of wild dogs had increased in warnings and neighboring villages in recent months.
“However, a dog bites so many people in a few hours is something new in several times,” said a resident.
Health officials said they were equipped with troops and vehicles that arrested the dog to immediately overcome the complaints of the threat of wild dogs from occupants.
“While wild dogs are sterilized, they are left in the same location after the process.”
