PANAJI: The state government states that he will treat the petition submitted by the Goa Heritage Action Group (GHAG) for the renovation conducted to the 17th century Fortressress Aguada as a representation on the city planner.
The state of Advocate General Devidas Pangam told the court that the government would act on it within three months.
Ghag has stated that the failure of the city head planner to prepare heritage bye-laws for the aguada fortress resulted in “terrible errors in the restoration lifter conducted” where the guise of “improving” foreign material and contrary to the legacy structure has been used.
“UUPVC roof material has been used throughout the fort, traditional roof material mangalore tiles have been replaced and washing cement on the wall has been done,” Ghag said.
“The same recovery and beauty as the recommended Azulejo tiles and stated in the environmental impact assessment report have not been carried out.
Instead, the whole stream, and surrounding areas have been destroyed and eliminated,” Ghag said by Heta Pandit and Cezar Pinto.
Applicants seek that TCP prepares heritage bye-laws and site plans with respect to each protected monument and protected area and to make it available on its official website quickly.
He also wants TCP to develop a website to organize information related to construction, reconstruction, repair, renovation, awareness, capacity building, and to publish detailed activities.
Ghag also demanded that the GTDC reverse the damage that caused and restore the characteristics of the inheritance and aspects of the fort.
