PANAJI: Chairman of the Minister of Pramod Sawnant on Thursday said that the state government will soon announce the name of the place where the IIT-Goa campus will be arranged.
There is no place to regulate the IIT-Goa in Tuem in Pernem Taluka, Sawant told reporters.
“The state government identifies the land to establish the IIT-Goa and will soon be stated,” he said.

The Committee held a meeting and discussed the location to be identified for the project.
In January, the minister’s chairman accessed the request of the local population of Melauli to shift the IIT project from the village.
“The decision to shift the IIT project was taken by considering the sentiments of people and the request of the Minister of Health Vishwajit Rane, who was also a local MLA, and local representatives said.
The government’s movement to cancel the project in Melauli was the highlight of the agitation of six months by the population.
The government has a previous identified site in Canacona and Sanguem for the Institute.
The Minister of Power and Curchorem Mla Nilesh Cabral said that the constituents “welcome” the project.
The IIT-Goa currently functions from the College campus of Goa Engineering in Farmagudi, Ponda.
The government can now search for sites in Sanguem or Quepem to establish the Institute.
