New Delhi: Already facing the heat to drag his feet to announce the compensation package for domestic cricket for last season, the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) must now think about compensating the short trophy of this season.
According to sources, the Board felt pressure to increase the cost of domestic players this year to redeem the crackling season.
During the trophy Ranji, every team played at least eight league matches.
But the Board has decided to make six groups, not four of the season.
This means that the team will get fewer three games.
A player (who plays the whole season) is scheduled to lose around 7.5 lakh Rs (including gross income distribution).
The Board has formed a committee on June 20 to develop a mechanism so that domestic players are compensated for last season’s restrictions.
Toi has learned that the Board now looks at a plan that can compensate for the players for the second season.
“Increasing the cost of domestic players is clearly an option.
The Committee will now consider it.
The Board has worked on ways to increase costs for several years,” officials said on BCCI TOI.
BCCI President Ganguly Sourva has vocal about the need to increase the cost of domestic players since he served in October 2019.
The plan was exposed to the financial structure of the council suffering from heavy taxes collected.
It would be interesting to see if the board finally brought an increase in domestic costs now.
Women’s T20 bags all except other development racks, women’s T20 challenges will most likely be saved for this year.
The tournament, which is played between three teams, is usually played during the end of the IPL business.
However, with the IPL finished in the UAE in September-October this year, there were no windows that matched the tournament.
