Ranchi: Will Kumari has become the first women’s mining engineer in India to work in an underground mine, said CIL ARM CCL on Tuesday.
He is a second women’s mining engineer at Maharatna Conglomerate Coal India Ltd (CIL) and the first to join the Central Coalfields Ltd (CCL) in the Churi Underground Mine in the North Karanpura region in Jharkhand.
A CCL statement said, “Will Kumari become the first mining engineer to join CCL.
Our female employees have assumed responsibility from officers to doctors to security guards and even run heavy machines such as dumper and shovel and have superior in every role.
However , this is the first time when the core mining activity of one of the largest coal mining companies in the world will witness this progressive change.
Will Ksha is the first to work in the underground coal mine.
