Geneva: In the upcoming UN General Assembly (UNGA) meet scheduled for this week, the United Nations High Commissioner for refugee Filippo Grandi will present a report on a recent field visit in Afghanistan.
During his visit to Kabul last week, Grandi met the Taliban government, as well as UN staff and other NGOs who had lived in the ground and maintained surgery.
Taking to Twitter, Grandi said that he would bring the UN debate their perspective the most affected by the crisis in a problematic country.
“I am in New York to attend Unga Week, meet leaders and participate in discussions about the world crisis.
I will report a recent field visit, including to Afghanistan, and will bring their perspective debate the most affected by the crisis: refuge , moved, without citizenship, “Grandi tweeted.
The 76th UNGA opened on September 14 and high weeks will begin on September 21 and will last until the 27th.
Last week, Grandi said that the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan was quite desperate and called for urgent assistance to the country.
Speaking at Presser in Islamabad last week, Grandi described the situation in Afghanistan as “very desperate” and emphasized that food, medicine, residence and other needs were needed.
When asked about Taliban rules, Grandi said that humanitarian assistance was “not subject to political considerations and should not be”.
Increasing concerns over frozen Afghan assets in other countries, Nati emphasizes that lack of money can cause the collapse of public services and will lead to even greater humanitarian crises.
He also underlined that the global and UN communities to engage with the Taliban for Afghanistan and regional stability.
Previously, the UN agency said that more than 18 million Afghans needed an urgent humanitarian assistance before the event that lasted in the past few weeks in this country.
More than 3.5 million have been transferred from their homes with conflict and remain domestically, including around 6.30,000 fell for 2021.
