New Delhi: Leader of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) Rakesh Titikit on Sunday warns the center that if an effort is made to forcefully remove farmers who protested from the border, they will change all government offices throughout the country to become ‘Galla Mandis’ (anaj) Mandis).
“If there is an effort to forcibly remove farmers from the border, they will change the government office throughout the country to take a galla bath,” he tweeted.
The warning of Farmer Union leaders came two days after the cemented barricades and blocks were excluded from the border of Ghazipur and Tikri.
Delhi police on Thursday began removing barricades placed in Ghazipur and Tikri bordering where farmers protested three central agricultural laws.
The stretch was closed for more than 11 months since the farmers’ protest began.
The JCB machine was seen removing a blockade placed by Delhi police in a farmer protest at the Border of Tikri Delhi in the midst of the Supreme Court session that has highlighted how the traffic in the area has been stopped by the authorities and not by the demonstrators.
The police have placed complicated barricades on the streets, along with giant nails and large concrete beams, when farmers gather at various border intersection points around the capital in November last year to protest three different agricultural laws.
Since November 26 last year against three agricultural laws imposed: farmers produce trade and trade (promotion and facilitation), 2020; Empowerment and Protection of Farmers) Agreement on Agricultural Guarantees and Agricultural Services Act 2020 and ACT Important Commodities (Amendments), 2020.
Farmer and central leaders have held several rounds of conversation but the deadlock remains.
