Will clean all schools in Western Ghats: Minister

Thiruvananthapuram: The steps will be taken to clean all streams in Western Ghats and restore fluent water flow, given the situation of rain threats and landslides at this time, said the local government minister, M v Govindan.
The Minister discussed the Mission Work Committee Meeting Haritha Kerala here on Friday.
According to the minister, the project to revitalize the canal tissue is being carried out with community participation as part of the campaign ‘Njan Ozhukatte (allow me to flow now), organized by Haritha Kerala Mission in collaboration with various departments and institutions under the auspices of local government institutions.
The Smart Garbage application project, an initiative by Haritha Kerala Mission, Suchitwa Mission, and stated that the IT department to intensify the process of gathering inorganic waste by green task forces working in local bodies, initially will be implemented in 300 Panchayats.
The scheme will then be expanded below all local government departments.
In addition, the meeting decided to coordinate actions for processing of liquid waste using a scientific approach.
Dirt carried out through waste treatment will be widely utilized in agriculture throughout the state.
The activities of the ‘Tharisurahita Panchayat’ project and ‘Harithasamrudhi Ward’ will be strengthened.
The work committee also decided to prepare a scientific framework for the construction of carbon neutral Panchayats with the support of the University of Kannur, CWRDM and experts in the field.
The aim is to provide training to local bodies based on guidelines and to coordinate follow-up activities.
The report was delivered by the Karmasamithi Coordinator of Navakerala TN and the local government department, additional Secretary of Secretary Sharadha Muraleedharan.
Head of various departments and planning council experts attended the Work Committee meeting.
