Hubballi / Bengaluru: The Chairman of the Minister of Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday said the government would continue his struggle to make Kannada mandatory not only in elementary and secondary schools, but at the class level as well.
“We have brought Kannada Mandatory Regulations for not only in primary or medium education, but also the degree.
The current problem before the court is high.
We will continue our struggle for it,” he said, after inaugurating Kannada Gitaa Gayana, a mass singing program as Part of the Kannakkagi Naavu event (we are for Kannada) held here.
Bommai said the government also planned the technical courses available in Kannada.
“At least 15 colleges have come to a bachelor’s degree program in Kannada.
They teach in Kannada and provide degrees in Kannada.
We have also introduced a new National Education Policy (NEP) that gives advantages to maternal language,” he said.
Emphasize that any language grows when widely used, cm says: “Everyone must speak Kannada and use it in everyday life to promote one of the ancient languages in the world.” Bommai also sings ‘Huttidare Kannada Nadalli Huttabeku’, Kannada’s film song and dancing to the tone.
He joined the group of people in songs -‘Baarisu Kannada Dindimava ‘, written by Jnanpith Awardee Kuvempu; ‘Jogada Siri is overlooked’ by the poet of Nisar Ahmed.
