NEW DELHI: The Textile Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday said he would ensure an increase in the textile sector and increase exports because it had a great opportunity.
Responsible for the Ministry of Textile, he said this sector will play a key role in promoting Indian brands throughout the world.
“Textiles are a large sector for work so this is a great opportunity through this sector.
The government will try to provide great support for the income of all people employed in this sector, especially women,” he told reporters.
“We will ensure that this sector can be further improved and export can be encouraged,” he added.
The Minister of State for Textile Darshana Vikram Jardosh, who took over on Thursday, said he would help grow and promote the textile sector and make it a key sector for ‘Make In India’.
The State Minister for Trade and Industry of Anupriya Patel also took over on Thursday.
He was elected to Lok Sabha from the Mirzapur Constituency in 2014 and again in 2019.
He was also the Minister of State for family health and welfare from 2016 to 2019.
