Chennai: Chief Minister M K Stalin on Wednesday will launch a scheme to provide free Covid-19 vaccines in private hospitals based on the company’s social responsibility initiative (CSR).
This scheme will be inaugurated at the Hospital Kauvy.
The funds to get a vaccine under the CSR initiative will be borne by the Chain of the Adyar Anandha Bhavan restaurant and the hospital will provide free JAB, said Minister of Health MA Subramanian.
This scheme will soon be applied in stages in all districts, he said.
Subramanian also clarified that current practices of private hospitals that provide vaccines with prices will continue, along with free vaccination drives.
Tamil Nadu has provided 1,94,93,414 vaccines so far, including 89,360 vaccination on Sundays.
The decline in new Covid-19 cases and death continued, with the state reported 1,808 fresh infections and 22 deaths.
Total Toll TN reached 33,911, the third highest in this country.
