Will extend full cooperation with the CCI Probe: Amazon, Flipkart

New Delhi: E-commerce Amazon and Flipkart Giants on Monday said they obeyed all the rules, and would extend full cooperation with the CCI probe, after the rejection of the Supreme Court to entertain their requests for alleged violations of legal competition.
Flipkart Amazon and Walmart have approached the Apex Court, challenging the decision of the Karnataka High Court to allow the Indian Competition Commission (CCI) to continue the investigation of them due to alleged violations of competition law.
On Monday, the Supreme Court refused to comfort Amazon and Flipkart’s request, by saying that challenging questions such as wanting notice before pine registration under criminal law and asked the e-commerce giant to surrender themselves to CCI.
When contacted, Amazon spokesman said: “Amazon has a high bar about compliance and we comply with all applicable laws.
We will expand full cooperation with CCI investigation”.
A spokesman Flipkart said while the company had not received an order, it respected the Supreme Court’s decision.
“We are in accordance with the applicable Indian law and will work with the investigation,” said the spokesman.
Order probe January 2020 CCI follows complaints by Delhi Vyapar Mahasangh, whose members consist of many traders who deal with smartphones and related accessories.
