Will finish installing a taxi meter on October 31: Goa to HC

Panaji: Advocate General Devidas Pangam has convinced the Bombay High Court in Goa that the state government will cancel the license of the taxi owner who failed to install digital meters on October 31.
The state government has canceled a permit of 1,849 taxis for non-installation meter digital costs in the specified schedule.
The 1,247 taxis have installed meters and the other 1,962 have ordered their slots to repair the device and wait for the installation, the state government submits.
Digital meter installation will be completed on October 31, the Transportation Directorate is guaranteed.
The state government submitted to the court that has made a decision to subsidize all device costs (including the cost of return and data service costs) which number will be borne by the government.
“…
the department has now received a business from the owner of 650 taxis, the license canceled or will be canceled, stating that they are ready to install meters,” Deputy Director of Transportation (South) Pralhad S was sent to the High Court.
The state government asked HC for Liberty to restore 1,849 permissions that were canceled once they installed a digital cost meter.
Asked that the taxi operator was given the last chance to install the meter on October 5 by considering the difficulties of Covid-19 and remembering the new subsidy scheme and because the taxi owner had agreed to attend meter and provide an effort.
“If one taxi owner installs a digital cost meter, it is clear that their permission can be restored,” said the division bench consisting of Judge Mahesh Sonak and M Jawalkar.
Director of Transport has been asked to submit a Compliance Report by the next hearing on November 15.
After various attempts to withstand a meter installation of digital fees, and after one association of the taxi owner went to court at the price “which was very unreasonable”.
The meter for RS 14,000 per device does not include an annual fee of Rs 4500, states that this can be purchased with half the price, CM announces that the government will bear the cost of meters.
The High Court recently dismissed the petition called they tried to “to stop the implementation of” digital meter suitability.
