Chennai: Vice-Chancellor of Anna R Velraj University on Wednesday said the University will revise the engineering syllabus to equip all students to get a job.
“Only 20% of students understand all topics given in the current syllabus.
The technical syllabus will be divided into two – one for students who understand all other topics and syllabuses is to equip industrial needs and to train them into entrepreneurs,” Velraj told reporters After assuming costs as representatives of Chancellor.
He said the university would create basic infrastructure to conduct world-class research.
“We will sow the seeds to allow our students to get the Nobel Prize in the next twenty years,” he added.
V-C, which further said the university along with the Tamil Nadu government will try to improve the quality of engineering education in the next three years.
For the query, he said the University would have a solar-powered vehicle in the next three months on campus and more focused will be given to electrical vehicle research to make the university one of the pioneers in this area.
“We will establish 1 MW solar panel in all 18 university universities,” he said.
