Will hold the 4th Vax Mega camp tomorrow: Dept. Health TN

Chennai: In an effort to encourage further vaccination coverage, the State Health Department has decided to hold the fourth edition of the Mega Vaccination camp on Sunday.
The decision to not hold the camp was reversed on Friday after district officials told the health department that they were willing to hold a camp a day after the Sabha gram meeting was scheduled for October 2, said Minister of Health MA Subramanian.
The success of the three first editions of the camp helped the state pushed the average vaccination number in September to more than 51LAKH vaccines a day compared to 2.9 lakh vaccines in August, Subramania told reporters on Friday.
On September 12, the state was vaccinated 28.9 Lakh and the following week on September 19, 16.4 people took a vaccine.
In the third mega camp on September 26, 25 people took a vaccine, he said.
“The state has more than 24.9 lakh doses and is expected to receive more doses on Saturday.
The vaccine camp on Sunday will work for 12 hours between 7am and 19:00 in all countries,” he said.
Data from immunization wings shows that the state has vaccinated 1.44 crore people in September, while receiving 1.42 doses of crore vaccines.
In August, it was vaccinated 91.6 lakh people against the 92.1 lakh dose received.
So far, the government has received a 4.56 crore vaccine dose and has used 4.5 crores.
The state has a 12.12 crore dose target for an estimated 6.06 adults.
“We have completed 39% of the target of the dose.
While 59% of adults have received at least one dose of 19% of them have received a dose,” said Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan.
On Friday, 2.7 lakh people took a dose of various public vaccination centers.
