Chandigarh: Congress has decided to ensure city growth and development with accountability, commitment, and transparency, according to Manifesto for the election of the Municipal Corporation (MC) released at his party’s office in Sector 35 here on Wednesday.
Senior Congress leaders, including the former Pawan Kumar Bansal Union Minister, Secretary General of AICC Harish Choudhary, AICC Coordinator AICC ABHISHEK DUTT and Congress Chandigarh Subhash Chawla vowed to make power.
Bansal, while saving BJP’s high claims about city welfare, said only Congress can bring the city back to the development path.
While overcoming a press conference, Bansal sounded BJP’s claim, said the only job carried out by BJP in the last six years was to bring City rank to 66th place from number 1 in Swachh Surveshhan.
“The city has witnessed the fall in every field during the BJP administration,” he said.
Sood said the sophisticated Trauma Center (ATC) was being built in a sarangpur for better health services.
The MBBS seat in GMCH 32 increased from 50 to 200 with a view to increase the number of doctors in the city, he said.
Referring to increasing education in the city, Sood said for the past five years, 11 new government smart schools opened in Chandigarh and five were being built.
Modern education is provided to students through smart schools.
He said that considering the quality of education, Chandigarh had become number one in the Niti Aayog education index report, defeating Delhi.
Sood in his speech said the Sporting Arena also found a new dimension with the opening of nine new sports complexes during the MC period.
These include six complete sporting complexes and three.
Six sports complexes have been dedicated to residents.
Apart from 99 reasons this is associated with sports.
